PCI stands for Payment Card Industry, which refers to the various payment cards (debit, credit, ATM, etc.) and their associated businesses.  It is often used as a reference for the PCI Security Standards Council.

For existing EPNA merchants, to become PCI compliant, click on the following link and call the number for guidance through the process:

For Merchants with a MID starting 803XXXXXXX & 804XXXXXXX

For Merchants with a MID starting 402899XXXXXXXXXX

The PCI Security Standard Council was established by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa International to facilitate industry-wide adoption of consistent payment card data security, which the PCI Data Security Standards Council developed.

PCI DSS stands for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. The PCI Security Standards Council developed PCI-DSS, a set of requirements for enhancing payment account data security.

PCI SAQ stands for Payment Card Industry Self-Assessment Questionnaire.  The PCI DSS self-assessment questionnaires (SAQs) is a validation questionnaire intended to assist your business and report your self-assessment results.  There are different SAQ types based on the types and amounts of payment transactions your business accepts.

Why does my business need to be PCI Compliant?

While data security has many aspects, protecting your business from a data breach starts with a good foundation.  The standards outlined in the PCI process are a practical, tangible process every business must implement to reduce vulnerability.  Businesses that complete the PCI compliance process have taken the first steps towards guarding against a costly breach and avoiding non-compliance fines for forensic investigations, fraudulent purchases, and the cost of re-issuing cards.
